Gemma 4 31B is Google's pretrained dense, multimodal Gemma 4 checkpoint, released April 2, 2026 under Apache 2.0; its complete BF16 checkpoint contains 31,273,088,876 parameters. Built from Gemini 3 research and technology, it accepts text, images, and video frames, generates text across a 262,144-token context, and serves as the base for a separately released instruction-tuned checkpoint with configurable thinking.
