Writer

Palmyra X 004 is Writer's proprietary enterprise language model, with a 128,000-token context window, tool calling for actions in external systems and a built-in graph-based RAG tool. Writer's model documentation listed it for API use by September 12, 2024 (it was absent on August 19), and Writer announced it in its own apps on October 9, 2024; with the Palmyra X5 release on April 28, 2025 it was renamed Palmyra X4 (API ID palmyra-x4; Amazon Bedrock ID writer.palmyra-x4-v1:0). It takes text input, returns up to 4,096 output tokens, and Writer lists December 14, 2026 as its deprecation date.
